REWINDER is a 2D side-scrolling platformer where your only ability is rewinding the last three seconds of your own movement. A hardware fault digitised you onto a motherboard, the BIOS flagged you as a maximum-threat anomaly, and you are trying to get out of the machine.

It is a scroll-driven preview of level one, not a playable level. The preview plays itself as you scroll, or as you swipe on a phone. The one thing you do yourself is press R for the rewind demo.

Move with A and D or the arrow keys. Jump with Space. Rewind with R. Pause with Esc.

Move with the left stick. Jump with A. Rewind with the left bumper. Pause with Start. Bindings follow the Unity Input System defaults, so an Xbox-style pad maps the way you would expect and other pads are read through the same layout.

Three seconds, and only along your own path. The world keeps going while you travel back, so a capacitor that dropped stays dropped.

Check that you actually moved in the last three seconds, because the rewind only retraces a path you left behind. Standing still leaves nothing to retrace.

No. A checkpoint closes the path behind it, so the rewind stops there.

Install the latest driver for your GPU, then run the game as administrator once so it can create its save folder. If Windows SmartScreen blocked it, open the warning and choose Run anyway.

Switch to windowed mode in the pause menu and close overlay software such as Discord or a screen recorder. An integrated GPU is enough for this game, but it still needs a current driver.

Check the Windows output device first, because the game picks the default device at launch. Then check the volume sliders in the pause menu.

No. Windows only at launch.

Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, 4 GB of RAM, around 500 MB of disk space, and a keyboard or an Xbox-style gamepad. Integrated graphics are enough. These numbers are provisional until the Steam page goes up.
